* 100% xylitol-sweetened gum has been shown to reduce plaque. Plaque build-up is a risk factor for the development of tooth decay in children. A positive effect is achieved if 2 to 3 g of chewing gum 100% sweetened with xylitol are consumed at least 3 times a day after meals.
** The beneficial effects occur when chewing xylitol chewing gum for at least 20 minutes after eating or drinking. (Eating foods containing xylitol rather than sugar supports tooth mineralisation.)
Note: Chewing gum with sweetener. Excessive consumption can have a laxative effect!
